That is not a typo (I know there are people rolling their eyes). Rather, I’m referring to a beauuutiful navy blue color called Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore. It has made its way onto many a pin on my Pinterest boards, not to mention all over the internet, and for good reason.
Hale Navy is a great modern navy with a gray undertone, allowing it to go with pretty much any other colors. It’s also not too dark where you can’t tell if it’s black or blue – this color is definitely blue. Here are some of my favorite rooms and pieces featuring the color.
Cozy in the bedroom
It looks so much lighter on this island with the natural light
Glamorous office with a striking ceiling
Moody walls in a den
The perfect navy blue door
That last photo leads me to the reason for this post. I, on a whim, was at Home Depot picking up plexi for some dry erase boards I’m installing in my office (coming soon). I decided to pick up a quart of paint, so I had it color matched to Hale Navy seeing as HD doesn’t carry Benjamin Moore paint. I knew I wanted to cover up the green front door I painted a few years back (I regretted the color ever since Vito called it Eagles green!) and I thought it could also be perfect for a Craigslist bar cart I picked up for $35 that’s been waiting in the garage to be finished. Vito is blaming the entirety of our over-stuffed garage on this bar cart and a small dresser, so I thought it was finally time to remove half of that problem for him. Ha. Married life, folks!
I don’t know that the color-matched paint is 100% accurate, it looks a bit more purple than the photos above, but I think it’s all in the lighting.
Door, before – Eagles green
Bar/kitchen cart before
Aaaaand after..
Should’a ironed that towel…
Now i’m itching to paint a room a dark, moody color.. any takers?
What’s your favorite color lately?
