My first post, ever. I thought that when it came time to write this, the words would easily flow, but its taken me entirely too long to finish it up! If you are reading this, it means that I finally mustered enough courage to share this blog with more people than my husband and dog. So, welcome to FrazzledGrace!
I created this blog for a few reasons:
1. To keep family and friends up to date with our never-ending renovations! Vito and I are constantly working on a new project (DIY, always), so I thought this would be a great way to keep people in the loop of everything we’re doing, and we love to share it with you!
2. To showcase smaller design projects that I tackle and things I love, from refinishing furniture, to crafty budget-friendly upgrades, to event planning, to craigslist finds, and everything in between. So, hold onto your seats!
3. As a personal project for myself to kick start in the year 2013. I’ve been doing a lot of “soul-searching” lately, trying to determine what I’m best at and what I ultimately want to do with my life. So through some self-exploration in the interior design world, graphic design, baking and cooking, entertaining and much more, I’m hoping to look back on this year with a better sense of me.
So, why the name “FrazzledGrace” you ask? Yes, it’s random, but I chose it because I feel it explains my personality and our lives as a couple (and I hope others’, too!) perfectly. On your average day, I’m all over the place. All the time, going from one thought to another, faster than I can say my own name. Our life together as a young married couple is basically the same, jumping from one project to the next, working on this rental or meeting up with that friend, with just enough time to pay the bills and feed our dog, Moxy before falling over. You might call me, and our life, frazzled. Somehow, though, we always seem to rise above this tornado we call life with our best feet forward, with the ability to make everything look pretty good. Whether it’s our house, our laid back demeanor’s, or the fact that we seem to know what we’re talking about, I think we’re pretty graceful on the outside. And there you have it, FrazzledGrace.
All of that being said, we are currently waist-deep in a kitchen overhaul – and I mean total. gut. job. Vito is finishing up for the night as I type this, trying to shop-vac our empty space so that he can spend a few minutes on the couch with me and Moxy before bed. It’s never ending, but that’s pretty much how we roll here. The kitchen is where I’ll start on our DIY journey, so stay tuned!
Up next, the wall comes down and we are happy happy happy (after the demo is cleaned up)!
